Two good (great!) pieces of news from Bologna

We just received the news that two books published by Planeta Tangerina won BRAW, Bologna Ragazzi Award special mentions, assigned by the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

They are:

What is it for?, by José Maria Vieira Mendes and Madalena Matoso, original edition by Planeta Tangerina BRAW NON-FICTION/ Special Mention

Once upon a time (there was and will be so much more), by Johanna Schaible, original edition by Piratförlaget BRAW OPERA PRIMA/ Special Mention

The BRAW reward the best books for children and young people in terms of design excellency, innovation and the ability to communicate with younger readers. This year 2215 books from 62 countries and regions competed. The awards are assigned by an independent panel of judges in the following categories: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Opera Prima, Comics, Poetry. In this edition, the panel was composed of: Olivia Ahmad, curator and artistic director of the London’s House of Illustration (UK); Antonio Alessandro DI Cicco, graphic designer (Italy); Magalí Homs Ros, designer and director of Tantagora (Spain); Yuliia Kozlovets, coordinator of the Kiev Book Arsenal Festival (Ukraine); Alessandra Starace, from Libreria delle Ragazze e dei Ragazzi in Milan and Brescia (Italy).

It’s great news!
