Ana Pessoa


Ana Pessoa was born in Lisbon, in 1982. She’s an author of young adult books, all of them published by Planeta Tangerina.

Her books have been translated in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia and have received several national and international recognitions: Maria Rosa Colaço Award (2018), White Ravens catalogue (2015, 2017), Branquinho da Fonseca Prize (2011).

In 2017, Ana was invited for the Aarhus39 at the Hay Festival, a selection of 39 writers in young adult literature, under 40, who were considered the most promising authors in Europe.

Her debut in children’s literature was in 2018, with the book “I am, I can” (illustrations by Madalena Matoso).
