Manuela Castro Neves is a lifelong teacher. Retired from public education, she is currently supporting children with learning difficulties.
Throughout her career, she participated in several projects focusing on the problematic relationship between schools and their environment and on the improvement of achievement rates in Priority Intervention Zones.

Among many others, she is author of the books:
“Pedagogia Intercultural” (Departamento de Educação Básica, Ministério da Educação, 1992)
“Da Vida na Escola” (Edições Asa, 2006)
“Não os Desiludas” (Livros Horizonte, 2011)

She has also several books for children:
“Um Elefante Diferente” (Ed. Caminho/Leya, 2009)
“Uma Cadela Amarela e Outros Amigos Dela” (Ed. Caminho/Leya, 2012).

Manuela belongs to the Modern School Movement.
