{"id":22375,"date":"2023-10-31T11:01:41","date_gmt":"2023-10-31T11:01:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.planetatangerina.com\/?p=22375"},"modified":"2024-03-21T10:18:11","modified_gmt":"2024-03-21T10:18:11","slug":"lucie-lucanska-wins-the-5th-edition-of-serpa-award-with-her-project-under-the-tent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.planetatangerina.com\/en\/lucie-lucanska-wins-the-5th-edition-of-serpa-award-with-her-project-under-the-tent\/","title":{"rendered":"Lucie Lu\u010dansk\u00e1 wins the 5th Edition of Serpa Award with her project \u201cIn the tent\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Serpa Town Council together with the publisher Planeta Tangerina organizes the fifth edition of the biennial Serpa International Picture Book Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiative aims to develop the literary and artistic quality of the picture book as a medium, and to encourage the creation of new projects in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This edition received over <strong>675<\/strong> submissions from <strong>53<\/strong> countries (Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Czechia, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, Ecuador, Scotland, Slovakia, Spain, United States, Estonia, Philippines, Finland, France, Holland, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, England, Iran, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Mexico, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Taiwan, Tatarstan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, Venezuela, Vietnam<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">The jury was made up of<\/span> <span class=\"apple-converted-space\">Swiss author\/illustrator<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetatangerina.com\/en\/sobre\/johanna-schaible\/\">Johanna Schaible<\/a><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetatangerina.com\/en\/sobre\/isabel-minhos-martins\/\">Isabel Minh\u00f3s<\/a> on behalf of Planeta Tangerina, and Paula Estorninho on behalf of the Serpa Town Council.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The jury sought books which stood out for their originality not only in terms of the narrative but also the illustrations, with a balance between the image and text, a strong story and an innovative capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">The book \u201cIn the tent\u201d by <\/span>Lucie Lu\u010dansk\u00e1 (Czechia), was named the winner of the 5<sup>th<\/sup> edition of the Serpa International Picture Book Award.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.planetatangerina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/underthetent1_ig-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.planetatangerina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/underthetent1_ig-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.planetatangerina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/underthetent1_ig-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.planetatangerina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/underthetent1_ig-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.planetatangerina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/underthetent1_ig-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.planetatangerina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/underthetent1_ig-600x600.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.planetatangerina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/underthetent1_ig-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.planetatangerina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/underthetent1_ig.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Of the winner\u2019s submission, the jury praised the richness of the visual elements, with a range of registers which vary according to the book\u2019s changing needs, without ever losing their internal coherence.
